I had an awesome time this past Wednesday at the YRCC! Today was "track and field" day for the kids, and they had a blast doing different types of "track" themed activities. Alongside watching the kids learn a new sport, I also spent time with the kids outside on the playground. It is so fun watching how much joy, fun, and community the YRCC brings to their staff and students. I cannot believe my time service learning is almost over! I will cherish the time I spent at this organization.

I had a great time today at the YRCC! I started by playing volleyball with the teens. It has been so fun playing my favorite sport with them the past few weeks- their improvement is wild!! I then created Halloween superhero capes with the younger kiddos! It was so fun getting in the Halloween spirit & hearing all about what they are being for Halloween! The kids LOVED designing their own superhero cape & creating their names and superhero powers. After we made our capes, we had lots of fun playing superhero together! I loved how I was able to interact with kids of all different ages today!

I loved volunteering yesterday at the YRCC! The sport of the day was volleyball, which I was particularly excited about because I played volleyball all throughout my childhood. It was so fun being able to teach the kids how to pass, serve, etc. I loved encouraging each student and seeing their joy as they learned a new skill. I truly look forward to going to the YRCC each week, for establishing relationships and investing in each of the students brings me great joy. I am excited to be back next week!

I had such an awesome time volunteering today at the YRCC! Due to how it was pretty cold outside, we stayed inside and played games. I played volleyball with one of the interns and two YRCC students. After, I colored with the students who did not want to play hockey with the YRCC volunteers. I always have such a fun time at the YRCC, and the students & staff have taught me how to be a stronger leader, friend, and human being!

Today at the YRCC I started off by playing outside with the teenage age group. We had so much fun playing on the playground & with the frisbee. Following our time outside, I helped the kiddos design their pumpkin carvings- which they absolutely loved! We ended with coloring different fall themed coloring pages. I had so much fun today at the YRCC! The kids are so awesome, and I always have such a great time.

I have loved getting to know everyone in the program, staff and students included. It is evident how much love and care the staff have for the kids, and I just love how impactful this program is. Cannot wait to be back next week!

I loved volunteering today at the YRCC! I was with the teenage age group, and we spent time playing in the computer lab followed by playing pickle ball with IFC. Several of the students had never played pickle ball before, so it was extra fun seeing them try out a new sport! It is so evident how much joy and positivity the YRCC brings these students, and how this facility has made an immense impact on their lives. I cannot wait to be back next week!

I loved going back to the YRCC & volunteering at their after-school program. This was my second time volunteering at this organization, and I was so happy to see familiar faces & strengthen my relationships with the students! I was with the teenage group today, where we spent time in the computer lab followed by playing soccer with IFC. I love seeing the joy that the kiddos have when trying different sports & playing games on the computer. I really admire how the YRCC exposes their students to numerous activities & hobbies. I cannot wait to continue volunteering at the YRCC!

I had an incredible time volunteering at the YRCC! This was my first time volunteering with this organization, and I loved getting to know the students and staff at this awesome program. I was assigned to help with the teenage age group, which was a very fun change since I currently work with kindergarteners. After playing games in the computer lab, we went outside to play flag football with the IFC volunteers. I loved witnessing how much fun the students had playing football and learning about the sport. Volunteering today at the YRCC highlighted the impact in which consistent, free after-school care have on children and their families.

I loved attending the Dream BIG graduation! So proud of all of the middle school girls and the growth they have made this year. Such a great year!
