The volunteers were asked to pull weeds and spread mulch on the Creative Aging Network grounds. Our other task was to clear land and paint decorations surrounding the Creative Aging Network grounds. It was a great experience. Made a lot of memories with my peers.

The creek clean was a sobering experience and awakening to the reality that surrounds the historical environmental issues at Bingham Park. Though the situation seems far from solved; seeing various members of the local community come together for this collective effort gives me hope that the problem will be resolved soon.

This event is so important because it highlights a topic that is usually hard for our society to talk about. Being able to take moments with my peers and student body to mourn or rejoice with each other was an experience.
