I had the opportunity to support Beautiful Lives by handling a variety of tasks—from tagging and steaming garments to organizing merchandise. It was more than just behind-the-scenes work; it was about creating a welcoming and intentional space where fashion meets purpose. Every detail mattered, and it felt good knowing that my effort played a small part in a bigger impact.

Participating in this event has become a daily routine for me during April. I make sure to lace up my shoes and head out for a walk or run, not just for the sake of exercise, but to show my support for the mission of SPEAK and survivors of sexual assault. It's not just about reaching a distance goal; it's about sending a message of resilience and compassion. Knowing that my efforts are part of a larger community coming together for this cause fills me with a sense of purpose and connection. So, every day, I keep lacing up and hitting the pavement towards a world where survivors are supported, heard, and empowered.
I served Habitat for Humanity, which is a nonprofit that helps families transitioning into permanent housing. There, I helped design promotional material that reminds customers of the nonprofit's appreciation for their support of their cause.
At Habitat for Humanity, I processed incoming donations from Lowe's Hardware Store. I threw out any damaged merchandise and repriced goods to reflect Habitat for Humanity's business demographic. Habitat for Humanity serves families finding permanent housing and helps create more opportunities for the underserved.
At Habitat for Humanity, I built cabinets to support families that struggle with paying for housing. The cabinets are going to be sold to contribute to funds that will assist families in need.
At Habitat for Humanity, I helped organized the merchandise. I moved merchandise that was out of place and helped the overall aesthetic arrangements of each space. I also tackled organizing the bookshelves. Overall, I helped Habitat for Humanity allow for maximum sales revenue by creating a more inviting and coded atmosphere.
I absolutely adore volunteering for Beautiful Lives Boutique. They are able to help so many noble causes and I can feel the difference I am making locally. I have done all types of work over visiting multiple times this semester including cleaning, steaming, tagging, and modeling merchandise. I have also cleaned and organized the overall store. I keep coming back to Beautiful Lives due to the welcoming atmosphere and its dedication to serving its mission.
I made felt blankets for a local dog shelter! I enjoyed getting to know the people in an organization that means so much to me. I would love to have the American Society of Interior Designers (University of Arkansas chapter) work more with local nonprofits.
I enjoy being able to give back to such a deserving community. I enjoy helping out, whether that be with tagging, steaming, or cleaning items in the store. I am so grateful to give back to local and worldwide nonprofits by giving my time to help out with the nonprofit boutique. I will continue coming back and helping out whenever I can.
I volunteered my time to fill out a survey hosted by the Arkansas Student Government to add my voice on how to improve campus life. I feel appreciative to have shared my thoughts, experiences, and opinions of my time here on campus.
