I helped plan and participate in events to help end period poverty

After organizing packing parties to make menstrual packages all semester, PERIOD was able to hand them out to community members experiencing homelessness in downtown Spokane. We made an agreement with Food Not Bombs of the Palouse where we would trade period packages for packages of food, which we were able to hand out. The wsu fashion club also made us blankets to distribute!! I was happy that I was able to help fellow community members, however i wasn't prepared for the emotional toll that seeing fellow humans at their lowest point.
