What were your thoughts when approaching the task?
My thought was to assemble as much clothes that I can find and donate those clothes
What were two or three significant moments while accomplishing the goal?
A significant moment was when we were trying to find where the donation center was but we found the place after pretty quickly after looking
Another moment was when we entered the building and a guy thanked us for donating.
What was the response of the recipient when the task was completed?
I delivered the clothes towards the back end to the store so I didn’t get a direct response but the person who was working in the area said thank you for donating and that was more than enough gratitude for me.
How did accomplishing this assignment contribute to your understanding of what it means to serve others?
I understood how important it was for people who don’t have clothes to receive clothes because it is very expensive to buy clothing and if people are not layered up during the winter. It can cause sicknesses amongst poorer communities.

My thoughts were too clean up as much trash as I can
What were two or three significant moments while accomplishing the goal?
A significant moment was that my leg was healing faster so I was able to slowly traveling to farther areas to pick up trash
A significant moment was when I started walking farther past my neighborhood to pick up trash. I was able to find more types of trash so it was kind of like a new territory.
What was the response of the recipient when the task was completed?
I didn’t get a direct response since my service wasn’t directly towards the person
How did accomplishing this assignment contribute to your understanding of what it means to serve others?
I understand that serving others does not mean receiving instant gratification, it means doing the right thing and knowing you’re making a change within your community.

A significant moment was slowly traveling to farther areas to pick up trash
A significant moment was when I started walking farther past the school to pick up trash. Another moment was when I started finding other types of trash other than usual wrappers and napkins.
What was the response of the recipient when the task was completed?
I didn’t get a direct response since my service wasn’t directly towards the person
How did accomplishing this assignment contribute to your understanding of what it means to serve others?
It gives me an appreciation for people who work in the cleaning industry and to all the volunteers who volunteer more than an hour.

What were two or three significant moments while accomplishing the goal?
A significant moment was when I started walking farther past the school to pick up trash. Another time was when I saw another person picking up after himself because he felt the need to do it.
What was the response of the recipient when the task was completed?
I didn’t get a direct response since my service wasn’t directly towards the person
How did accomplishing this assignment contribute to your understanding of what it means to serve others?
I understood how hard people need to work and how sometimes it may take a while the work will pay off with happiness and kindness of others.

Picked up trash around the neighborhood of La Verne. Felt really good to clean up the city that I live.

What were your thoughts when approaching the task?
When approaching this task my thoughts are to go to places that are close to me since my foot brace doesn't allow me walk too far and to pick up as much trash I see
What were two or three significant moments while accomplishing the goal?
One significant moment was walking to my farthest destination, Hoover, while still in my boot which is something that I was proud of. I also found some trash on campus and picked up anything I saw when walking back.
What was the response of the recipient, once the task was completed?
It wasn't a task that directly affected a person but the longevity of the community
How did accomplishing this assignment contribute to your understanding of what it means to serve others? Sometimes you don't need instant gratification from someone saying thank you. For me it comes from the gratification of knowing that what I'm doing is helping the longevity of cleanliness in my community
