I joined Ms. Ki’s class to help facilitate a conversation on police brutality and de-escalation techniques. After doing so, I helped the students create a skit, displaying de-escalation techniques when encountering the police. Lastly, I helped facilitate their literary discussion on oyster gardening and helped the students create a presentation, presenting what they learned to the class.

Today, I worked in Ms. Ki’s classroom! I helped her facilitate their math block activity time, which included a multiplication bingo activity. I also helped her facilitate their egg drop challenge and provided homework help during their last block.

During my time today at Raising Expectations, I helped faculty do a lot of administrative tasks. This included updating grade logs, attendance logs, and submitting math drill trackers for all the students in the DreamWare program.

Today, I helped update the grade logs for the 10th grade scholars alongisde volunteer Ewa. Additionally, I helped tidy up the office alongside the other volunteers.

I was a teaching assistant in Ms. Ki’s classroom. I helped the students complete a grammar exercise and helped grade math worksheets. I also got to engage in free time with the scholars, where I got to learn how to play “Spoons”. Additionally, I helped facilitate the birdhouse painting activity. It was very fun!

During the Vine City community cleanup, I collected trash and waste in the West End Community alongside my peers and the Sisters in Sync organization. While doing this, I got to meet new people within the AUC and got to know about other student organizations.
