I enjoyed volunteering for this well organized event. I was there to help with setup like getting the chairs and tables where they needed to be, as well as directing the traffic (telling the vendors and family/organization members that they could come in, while informing the guests to park on the street). I liked listening to the goings-on, talking with my fellow volunteers (some of whom were also from A&T, one person I even recognized from a previous interaction), and I even helped myself to an ice cream.

I had a really enjoyable time! My first task was to help out with setting up the interviews for the 6-8 year-olds' projects. I also assisted with interviewing them, asking questions about their core values and teamwork, along with determining which teams deserved what awards and handing out said awards to the children. After that I was on standby to assist with any teams that needed my help, and reminding them to wear safety glasses while in the pit.
It was really fun seeing all the smiles on the kids' faces as we told them how proud we were of their work. I made sure to give as detailed of compliments as I could, congratulating them on their unique designs, or their craftsmanship, or simply telling them that what they did was really cool.
I appreciated the breakfast and lunch available (I kinda wish that I was told there'd be breakfast, but I guess that was implied. It worked out for me later though because I brought my own breakfast, but chose to eat the offered one instead. I was able to eat the one I brought as a snack in between breakfast and lunch.) And overall I feel like I had a decent variety of things to do that made me feel like it mattered that I decided to show up and not sleep in.
My only issues were that when I arrived to volunteer check-in, not only was I apparently not on the list, but I was assigned to a different role than what my email told me, and when I went to talk with the person I was meant to be assisting, I was then given another completely different role.
This was my second time volunteering for a FIRST event at the Corbett Sports Center, and I'd gladly do it again here (if I weren't graduating this May!)
This was a very enjoyable volunteering experience. I enjoyed helping to set up the room full of all the McNair Posters and books and newspapers, I even got to read a few. I wish that room got more attention from the people visiting for the symposium, but regardless, it was really nice. I also helped to take down all the project posters at the end, and I learned a few new things about ecosystems and pollution and robot prosthetics. Overall, a really good event.
The half marathon was a lot of fun. I was there in time to help set up the medals on the poles near the start/finish line. After that, I was stationed on W Fisher Ave with another person to help point the runners in the right direction and cheer them on once the races started. I was there for the fun run, the 5K, and the Half Marathon, and it was nice seeing all those people run the marathon. I liked being there to cheer them on, and got a great deal of thanks and smiles in return. Encouragement like that makes you feel like you can do anything. Once the last runner made it to the finish line, I stuck around a bit longer to help put everything away. Mrs. Becky helped me get started by helping with the banners and wire strips, then I moved on to taking down tables, loading the tents and the remainder of the food and drinks into the trailer, etc. I was just glad to help, and I even got to take home a medal!
This was a good event, when I showed up there wasn't much for me to do initially, but after some time passed I was able to help out with giving out blankets and towels. The only issue with the event was that there weren't a lot of people there to take advantage of the food and the free linens. I hope future events get the word out more so the people who need these things can get them.
The ceremony was very professionally put together and organized. I enjoyed getting to help out with the bar and the takedown after the event was over. Mr. and Mrs. Rosa were very kind, and I met some lovely people at the event. I look forward to potentially helping out with more events in the future.
This was a fun event to be a part of. I was stationed right next to the moving robot, giant chair, and all the senior design projects. I initially came to assist with my group's project, but once I saw ours wasn't there (likely because it wasn't presentable) I pivoted to helping to hand out NCAT merchandise and helping people take photos on the giant NCAT chair. After I was done I took a look around the festival and got some food. It was a very well-put-together event, and I'm glad I got to participate in it!
It was great to be back at the Aggie Source. There was such to do, and I felt a sense of accomplishment as I completed stuff. I look forward to coming back!
The event I went to was the Greater Greensboro CROP Hunger Walk (I can't find the group anywhere). I enjoyed the walk, as it was a beautiful day. The event was well organized, having snacks and water for the walker (however my friend lamented the lack of sugar-free snacks, as he was on a diet). I felt like the wait to begin actually walking was a bit long, but it gave me time to just look around the park and just take in the scenery. The walk was a great exercise, and a wonderful way to start the day. I was glad to contribute something!!
Again, It's a decent donation box in the Blair/McNeil Lobby that I'm glad was available. I got to do something useful with clothes I could not or would not do.

Thank you for all your help this past weekend. Hope you can help again
