I had the best time with the adults at the CFE today. I watched a part of a show with one individual and colored with another. I got to talk about Christmas gifts and lights with a few people. I'm looking forward to continuing volunteering with the CFE after the holidays!

This afternoon was so much fun! I built legos with one adult for the majority of my time there. I used a bunch of blue pieces to build a big wall while we showed me the pieces he had put together. I also sat with another individual who needed some redirection, so we cut paper into small pieces and colored. I love getting to see the same faces each week and build my connection with them.
Trunk or Treat was so much fun! I loved getting to see all the costumes and interact with the people who came up to my trunk. Getting to decorate and prepare for this was also so much fun. Halloween is my favorite holiday, so getting to participate in this was a blast.
At the Center for Enrichment, I met a few new adults and got to spend time with them. We colored and watched part of Ghostbusters. The one adult I was sitting with would draw a picture of a car, then hand it to me to color. Toward the end of my visit, someone I met last time came to hang out. She had a box of bracelet beads to look through and sort, so I spent the last hour making patterns with her. I've really enjoyed getting to know everyone as well as their needs. Everyone is so kind and eager to sit with me when I arrive.
I'm super excited to attend the ASN Trunk or Treat! This morning, I went to Hobby Lobby and Dollar Tree to get a few decorations for the event. I got garland, a sheet to lay down in my car, and balloons. I got candy that I personally enjoy getting when I used to Trick or Treat, but ASN will be providing more! I also gathered decorations I had around my house such as LED lights, garland, and a fun door mat I'll put outside my trunk. In addition, I'm painting a little banner to hang on my bumper this afternoon.
Today at the Center for Enrichment, I was introduced to the people the CFE support as well as the staff. I arrived just after lunch as everyone was getting ready to be picked up. I got to hang out with multiple adults with varying needs while we built legos, colored, and chatted about their days and favorite things. One adult talked all about his favorite sweets and snacks, and another just showered me with compliments for the duration of my visit. The staff were so kind and helpful in me learning everyone's names and getting settled. I can tell they care a lot about the people they serve as well as their volunteers. I'm looking forward to the rest of the semester as I get to know these adults better!
Fun!
