Today was enjoyable as I went this time around with my friends. We also arranged boxes for Senior Citizens; this time, I was at the front of the assembly line. We were also accompanied by two large groups, which made the process go by so much faster. I made a new friend by the end of it, and overall, I enjoyed my experiences at the Atlanta Community Food Bank!

This was my first time at Agape, and I was excited and impressed by the facility and what it means to the kids in the Atlanta community. As I entered, I was greeted with warm energy and was asked to help with an upcoming event for Agape. Then, for my last couple of minutes at the facility, I had the opportunity to go into the first-grade classroom and see how a normal afternoon was for them!
Volunteering at the Atlanta Community Food Bank was as exhilarating as it was fulfilling. We spent the first part of the day learning about our impact on the Georgia community and safety in the warehouse. Then, we all started picking our roles, with today's session being focused on creating boxes for senior citizens. I was in charge of packing two rice units in each box, and it was fun being alongside others who were there for the same cause, as well as Spelmanites. The time went by so fast that when it was the last box, I couldn't believe it! We applauded each other for the effort, and in the end, we packed 21,840 pounds of food, which equated to 18,200 meals!
I participated in the Lifting Our Voices GSU chapter's Sandwich Run, where there were stations to make, pack, and send sandwiches to the local communities. I mostly stayed in the sandwich-making station, and it was a lot of fun socializing with other people from different schools and knowing that participating was making a difference in my community.
