Emma Humphreys

I had so much fun volunteering at the halloween carnival! The kids were so sweet and it was cool getting to meet their families as well. We spent the first part of the day finishing set up and running some errands to get everything ready. I spent most of the carnival working in the craft room, where we colored and made ghost cut-outs. I loved getting to see the kids' creativity shine and how happy it made their parents.

On 10/27, we spent time at YRCC setting up for the carnival. We made signs, set up tables, and decorated the gym with various halloween decorations. It was fun getting to see girls from my class and make new friends!

I helped make some crafts for the upcoming halloween festival and hung out in the tech room for a little while. The other volunteers were so sweet and welcoming, as it was my first time there. It was so refreshing to see these kids having fun and building relationships with the staff and each other.
