For this activity, I created a children's book entitled "Ms. Glucose's Class: A Day with Insulin". The story covers a class of 3rd grade students as they learn about hormones, specifically insulin, and how insulin pairs with glucose to regulate blood sugar levels and move glucose from the blood to the cells. They discover that their teacher is an undercover glucose hormone who is best friends with an Insulin hormone, and the story goes from there. This was a very educational and joyful experience for me to utilize my creative skills and storytelling skills in a way that deals with biology and the human body.
