At this time, I learned about the different requirements to remain on the Promise Scholarship, as well as taking note of the different changes that will take place in the following year. Attending this meeting informed me of the events that will be offered next semester. Therefore, I asked questions I had regarding how many classes can be taken during the winter.
During this event we had time to chat, and also to work on our pending tasks, and for any questions we had there were tutors we could ask. The most fun was that we had the opportunity to participate in raffles. The atmosphere was very welcoming and super helpful.
During this session we will learn how school fatigue can invade our lives as students, but at the same time we will learn new strategies on how to deal with the fatigue that school can often cause. One of the main things is to find something that we like to recharge our energy and then try again, since this way we can distract ourselves a little and when we return to work on the tasks we can do it more clearly.
This event has brought me a lot of happiness, and at the same time, I have learned about different holidays that are celebrated around the world. It also gave me an understanding of why your holidays are celebrated since they have a cultural meaning that transcends borders. In addition, this event served to celebrate the multiculturalism that exists at PGCC.
This event certainly cleared up many questions I had regarding how MD state delegates play a very important role in the development of schools. However, we residents of each county are the ones in charge of bringing you the news of the problems that overwhelm us. Also, I learned that as young people it is of utmost importance to know our rights in order to know who can be a good candidate who values, listens to, and considers our requests.
During this session, we learned about the importance of seeking help when we face difficult situations, whether it be with homework, I learned about the different resources that are available at school to help us with feedback on our assignments. Also, the importance of having a study group since as students we can support each other.
At this event you will learn about the different opportunities that UTC offers, mainly that they now offer tutoring in English and Math. During the event there were many teachers who came to give tutoring. They also gave me advice on how to choose our classes and many tips on how to work on our assignments.
This session was very helpful as I learned about Impostor Syndrome and how it can affect us, but I also learned different strategies to combat it. This syndrome can often attack us by making us believe that we are not capable or worthy of what we do or what we have. Mentoring is one of the main factors to overcome these situations.
During the event, we talked about the activities we wanted to see happen on the UTC campus. We had time to socialize and vote on what we would like to do to get students involved in the different activities offered at UTC. I also learned that if we want to create a club of any kind, we only need two people and PGCC will sponsor some funds to start the club. But the most important thing was the importance of activities for the academic development of students.
