Gave valuable information!

Volunteering with MAIS Construction was a valuable and eye-opening experience that taught me a lot about teamwork, responsibility, and the importance of community service. During my time with the company, I had the opportunity to assist with various construction-related tasks, observe skilled professionals at work, and gain a deeper appreciation for the effort that goes into building and maintaining safe, functional spaces.

One of the most meaningful aspects of this experience was seeing how construction work directly impacts people’s lives. Whether we were helping to repair a home or assist on a community project, I saw how important it is to give back in ways that provide lasting benefits. The team at MAIS Construction was welcoming and patient, taking the time to explain tasks and safety protocols, which helped me feel confident and involved.

Through this experience, I developed better communication and problem-solving skills. I also learned how to follow directions carefully, work efficiently under supervision, and adapt to new challenges. This experience reinforced the value of hard work and community involvement and gave me a greater respect for those who work in the trades.

Overall, volunteering with MAIS Construction was a rewarding experience that helped me grow personally and professionally. It also reminded me that no matter what field you're in, giving back to the community is a powerful way to make a difference.

Was happy that all of my questions were answered by the Special Scholarships team and from students in the chat! Felt even more confident this semester with the resources that were mentioned.

It has been tremendously fulfilling to volunteer with a building company to help with homeowner training. I helped create and present workshops on fundamental house repair and maintenance techniques, which gave me the opportunity to observe the life-changing potential of giving homeowners useful information. It was quite satisfying to interact with people, hear their stories, and watch as their confidence in taking on home repairs grew. My understanding of community involvement has grown as a result of this chance, which has also brought to light the wider influence that construction workers may have outside of their typical responsibilities.

Got clear info about the next semester and things that I need to do.

I go to study, complete assignments and see help!

Definitely love the vibes that comes with tacos with tutors!

I loved this! And it made me want to be more involved at pgcc.
