    Capitol Area Food Bank

At the Capitol Arena Food Bank, I had the opportunity to give food to those in need. This was my second visit, so I already had some understanding of food insecurity. This time, I packaged milk in cardboard domes that we assembled. Milk is particularly interesting from a biological perspective because it is a complete food, rich in calcium, protein, and essential nutrients necessary for human growth and bone health. Distributing it not only helps alleviate hunger but also supports nutritional balance in a diet, crucial for biological development and health.

Our time here was spent making food boxes for senior citizens who are experiencing food insecurity. Fighting food insecurity is vital not just for human well-being, but from a biological perspective, it is crucial for maintaining our body's homeostasis, enabling growth, repair, and optimal functioning of all living cells. I had an amazing time, we ended up packing a total of 533 boxes which means 533 people who are impacted.
