During the MyPGCC Overview session, I learned how to navigate the MyPGCC website and locate specific areas within it. It was a very helpful session for new students as well as a great refresher for current students.
During the session, I was able to refresh the requirements needed to maintain the scholarship, such as engagement hours and mandatory sessions throughout the semester. It was a very interactive session using Kahoot.
I assisted Vivian by preparing CAB materials. I helped number the safety vests for volunteers to use for future events, I helped organize boxes, and build CAB lights for the spring formal.
During the end-of-the-semester meeting, I was able to review the requirements for the scholarship. I also learned about the new requirement of sending hours for verification within 7 days. We were also reminded to check our emails throughout the summer. The presentation was very neat and straightforward.
In today's mini-session, "The Blueprint for Success - Resume Workshop," I learned more about improving my resume, important information to include (describing work experience: action verb, content, purpose/impact/result), and things to remove or change. I was also able to ask questions and get clarifications.
I attended the SGA Kickback Listening Party as a volunteer for the Campus Activities Board. I helped put up decorations, put table cloths, prepare party lights/glow sticks, etc. I also assisted in serving food to the participants. It was a fun event; I was able to meet other student volunteers, and we played games.
In the MyPGCC Overview session, I was able to learn more about the MyPGCC portal, the widgets for courses, registration, financial aid, advisor, the tools, and shortcuts, etc. It was a very informative session, and it is great that the portal also has an app.
During the third mini-session, Mental Health: Emotional Wellness, Healthy Relationships, and Productivity, I was able to learn more about emotional wellness, habits to avoid, emotions to be aware of, how to become productive, and strategies to use to be able to manage stress. This session was a great reminder to self-reflect on habits and emotions to find the right approach to cope with them.
During the Step into Leadership and Governance session, I learned more about the SGA, the positions in the SGA, what they entail, and the process and requirements for running for a position.
