Rainy day stations! I got to be in the cafeteria with a group of kids and run the just dance station. It was a fun + energetic time haha
Played outside all day today while i was there! So fun, did swings and chalk
We played outside for the whole time and even did clubs outside since it was so nice out. I helped with painting club!
We played outside, did swings, and then I went with the 1st graders
We played outside for the normal time, I was at the swings the majority of the time. Then we had clubs, and I was with painting again this time! Cleaned up then took the kids to dinner and after that i was done.
We played outside majority of the day! it was so nice out and i pushed the kids on the swings for a while then we went in and had dinner.
Today we started off checking the kids in then took them to the gym and played dodgeball. Then I helped out in the painting club and cleaned up after! We had dinner and time in the library, then I left.
Yesterday since it was so nice outside, we played outside the whole time! The snow had melted so lots of the kids got muddy and were jumping in puddles haha. We even did their discovery learning outside.
This was my second week of going, and I rode with Meagan again. We arrived and headed to the main SOAR room and then headed to our designated classrooms. I am with 3rd grade, assisting two other girls. We learned about how our pulse speeds up when we are physically active, and did an activity to demonstrate. We then went to the indoor gym since it was cold outside and played dodge ball.
February 4th was my first day of this service learning opportunity. I arrived, checked in, and headed to the classroom with Meagan who is doing it with me. We got to meet everyone then headed outside with the kids shortly after. We played little sally walker for almost the whole time then went inside and watched a science video about erosion.
