Sharing the Love through STEAM

Today, I assisted with organizing materials and helping plan for the A&T STEAM Lab’s spring semester. Volunteering in this role supports the overall success of upcoming events and helps ensure the semester runs smoothly.

I volunteered at Liberty Elementary School’s annual Holiday Shop, where I served as a shopping helper. I helped students pick out gifts for their families and wrapped their presents to make the holiday season extra special.

I participated as a Teach For America Ignite Fellow Tutor, serving students Tuesday through Friday. In this role, I supported students’ reading proficiency through targeted small-group instruction and relationship-based tutoring. This experience strengthened my commitment to improving literacy outcomes, especially during America’s current literacy crisis, and allowed me to make a meaningful impact on students’ confidence and growth as readers.

In this service, I got to make cards for patients with dementia and Alzheimer’s. I just wanted to spread some love during national Alzheimer’s awareness month for the holidays!

I volunteered at a shift to collect nonperishable food items that will be donated to Urban Ministry during National Hunger Week!
