Working with the 2Share team to deliver furniture to those in need has been such a rewarding experience. I showed up on my own, and by the end of the day, I felt a connection had been made between the other volunteers and me. We began the day by meeting at St. Pete’s church, the donation center for 2Share, and discussing the plan for the day. We loaded the necessary items, then followed the box truck and helped unload furniture into the houses. This week, we delivered to 13 households with 17 adults and 19 children, including a senior who was sleeping on a hospital bed with no mattress, just a quilt folded over the metal springs. This experience has given me a completely new perspective and has helped me recognize and appreciate the blessings in my own life. Volunteering with 2Share is a great way to see your impact in real time. The immense amount of gratitude that the community expresses is one of the most rewarding things someone can witness.
