Yana Gaitan

I enjoyed being a camp leader. Meet in the Middle was a camp for rising 6th and 7th graders, pairing mental health skills with sports. The camp prepared students for the transition from elementary to middle school by focusing on skills such as self-esteem, healthy relationships, and coping skills that they could apply. I was able to engage with and play with the kids. Each day, we focused on a skill. I enjoyed my time and being able to build relationships with students.

Yana Gaitan  1 year ago I had the wrong group. I had Silver Challenge 24/2,5 and it is supposed to be Silver Challenge 25/26.

It was moved inside, I was put in the yoga ball stations. The students were on the yoga balls and bounced to and from the cones. It was very fun even though it was inside. Kids were able to go to the different "field day" activities throughout the school. The staff was very friendly. PE was helpful.

I had a great time working with the kids, I worked alongside Gabby and we worked on the yoga ball station where students raced on the big yoga balls to and from the cone. It was a great experience.

Had a great time helping with the staff/ student volleyball game. I think this was very enjoyable for the students and even myself. Great school and kids. Would volunteer 100% back at this amazing school!

Johnson Street was a great school to volunteer at. I had a blast. Students did water games and they were able to play relay games, sponge games, wet sack games, etc. I was in charge of refilling the student's water buckets at each station. I had wonderful helpers and the students all worked collectively to ensure that the littles had the best field day :)

The front office, PE coach, and kids were a pleasure to work with. I was in charge of the water hose station. I think it was cool that 7th and 8th graders helped with field day. I think this was a cool experience for the older kids and the younger kids.

I had so much fun! I love that I was able to help out and work with kids, which I am truly passionate about. I did not know the difference you could make by helping in field day. It is rewarding for sure. The school staff was really nice and extremely helpful!

I had a blast. Shadybrook was an amazing school to volunteer at. The staff and the PE coach was helpful. I had fun with the students and it is truly rewarding to get to work and put a smile on kids because they are deserving of it!

Shadybrook was a good school to volunteer at. It was easy to guide classes/groups through the activity. Everything was easy to understand. I would definitely help out.
