    ReFresh Session (1st session)

The first Special Scholarship Refresh Session was very informative and helped me better understand the expectations of the program. I learned that only certain service hours are acceptable, such as community engagement and approved activities, while others that don’t directly contribute to service requirements are not counted. The session also emphasized the importance of maintaining at least the minimum GPA of 2.5 to remain in good standing and reminded us that scholarship representatives are there to guide us through requirements, but they are not academic or personal counselors.

Overall, this session clarified important guidelines, reinforced accountability, and motivated me to stay organized and focused on meeting the scholarship standards while continuing to work toward my academic and personal goals.

End of Semester Meeting [Mandatory] (Thursday)

Today, May 15th at 11:00 AM, a special scholarship end-of-semester meeting was held to review key program requirements and provide guidance on maintaining good standing. The discussion covered essential criteria such as maintaining the required GPA, completing community service hours, attending mandatory events, and staying enrolled full-time. Students were reminded to regularly check their emails for important updates and to reach out to program advisors with any questions or concerns. The meeting emphasized accountability and proactive engagement to ensure continued scholarship eligibility.

    Jaron @ Greenbelt Middle School

Volunteering with the Greenbelt Middle School Drama Club for 14 hours was a rewarding experience that allowed me to support a creative and collaborative environment. I assisted with event setup and breakdown, helped maintain a clean and organized space, and supported rehearsals and team activities. Through this experience, I demonstrated commitment, reliability, and a strong work ethic while strengthening my communication and teamwork skills. It was fulfilling to contribute to the success of the program and to see the positive impact of my efforts on both the staff and students.

    1. Working in close contact with the community made me realize just how crucial it is to make health information available to all, especially when uncertainty looms large.
    2. The enthusiastic response from the community confirmed my belief in the importance of proactive communication and its role in public health.
