We had a recap of scholarship requirements, like hours, GPA, important dates, and registration for future semesters. There were a couple of surveys in the middle of the session that kept us engaged too
We had the Homecoming Tailgate Bash, which was an outdoor event that helped us make some connections and hang out with friends. The RSVP let us get a gift box, and we also got some pictures with friends! I also used this time to interview some students in campus for a communication project I had
We spoke about use of AI and how to cite it. We also saw a Q&A between SGA Candidates, which answered a couple of questions from a moderator in scene.
Mr. Heath showed us all about financial empowerment, and how the PGCC financial empowerment center is a crucial resource we have as students. Financial education is important and knowing how to manage yourself in the sense of time, health and relations can also contribute to our financial habits!
CAB Personal and Interest meeting. We discussed about CAB's (Campus Activities Board) involvement in campus events, and what are the next steps to get involved in campus.
I learned a lot when it comes to sending mails or voicemails, which can be applied on campus activities or outside of it too. Also, the different points of view when it came to a classmate not doing their part surprised me
Ms. Zandrique, the Thompson Hospitality vice-president, gave us a speech about restaurant management and some tips when building a career as leaders. Her experience was really valuable to me, since it helped me get a better understanding of how climbing up ranks in the industry works, and the different traits needed or recommended to be a great leader and manager.
A weekly PGCC C.O.D.E. Club meeting, in which we discussed the goals of the club, future events, and meet and greet with club officials. We got to connect with peers from the club, and get an idea on the project we need to complete by the end of the semester for the club!
I had a nice time reviewing the requirements for the scholarship once more. We went through some Kahoot slides, answered questions to get us engaged and ended the session with a Q&A.
