This event was a perfect blend of creativity, relaxation, and campus community. It was great to connect with both new faces and old friends at PGCC while designing our own custom plant bags.

The scholarship refresh meeting was exactly what I needed to kick off the Fall 2026 semester with confidence. It provided a clear, helpful overview of our core academic and program requirements, including maintaining a solid GPA and tracking our 15 engagement hours via GivePulse. Walking away with practical planning tips for the year ahead left me feeling motivated and fully prepared to stay on top of my goals.
It was incredibly fulfilling to work with a dedicated street team to manage check-ins, navigate campus schedules, and handle lunch logistics to give our incoming Promise Scholarship students a smooth, welcoming first day at PGCC.
I collaborated with a great team to welcome incoming students to PGCC. My day involved organizing orientation schedules, managing student check-in, and helping set up the afternoon lunch service. I loved taking charge of a student group, guiding them smoothly across campus, and sharing my own college experiences to give them an impactful start.
This meeting was actually really helpful for me. It reminded me of what I need to do to stay in good standing with my scholarship, like keeping track of deadlines and making sure I check my emails, even over the summer. I also enjoyed seeing everyone again and hearing about all the updates to the scholarship program. Overall, it was a good way to reflect and feel more prepared for next semester.
I showed up ready to help, and ended up walking a bunch of parents and upcoming students to the right rooms, handing out flyers, and making sure no one missed out on the free snacks and drinks. It felt good knowing I actually helped people and lead them to the right direction.
After going to this virtual town hall with PGCC’s president, I felt way more prepared for future changes coming to campus. The president shared a lot of exciting and detailed news, and I was really happy to hear my own question get answered about what resources SGA wants to give students to help with their grades. Overall, the event helped me better understand academic resources and my own responsibilities, and it encouraged me to ask questions, stay engaged, and take more responsibility for my education.
I learned a lot from this meeting about what people go through whenever they are facing financial issues in their life before or in college. I learned that doing activities like going outside, doing relaxing things, or reflecting on the things I have done can help me let go of stress about things I worried about.
From this financial wellness meeting, I also learned that money problems can stress people out so much before and during college that it’s hard to focus on schoolwork, which is called “cognitive tax.” The speaker said doing relaxing things like going outside or reflecting on what I’ve done can help me let go of that worry. He also connected money to mental health and showed how being careful with finances now can stop stress later.
I went to the Adulting 101 session, and it was super informative. I learned how to write good emails with examples of what to do and what NOT to do. I also learned how to properly send a voicemail and how to talk to my peers about a problem that needs fixing. Now I feel way more ready to handle things like emailing and leaving messages.
I attended the virtual session on March 23rd at 12 PM, and I found it really helpful. I learned that a resume is a small paper where you write your previous work experiences and things you are good at. A CV is a long paper used mostly for those who want to work in science or teaching. A cover letter is a small letter you write to tell why you want to work there and why you are good at it. The session also talked about “personal wellness,” which means taking care of your feelings. I learned how not to feel nervous while writing a resume. I really liked the session because it was virtual, and I will tell my friends to attend the next session because the teacher explained everything in a way I can understand.
