Excellent environment, inviting community, and wonderful staff. I was assigned to supervise youth aged 13-15, and it really gave me a feel for what it's like to be a teacher. My appreciation for my past teachers increased by immense amounts as I realized what a difficult job it can be, however, I was also given the opportunity to get a glimpse at why the ocupation may be so fulfilling. Teenagers can be a handful, but I'm glad I was able to lend a helping hand.

Returning to the Eleanor Roosevelt High School team of the Muslim InterScholastic Tournament (DC) as a coach after being a competitor for the past three years is an experience I can't describe as anything other than surreal. I now have to fill the big shoes of the people I looked up to, and my only hope is that I will be able to even remotely compare. To have set the foundation for an upcoming year of mentorship, guidance, and extracurricular growth was a pleasure, but is nothing more than a first step in a long journey to come. I hope to make a true impact on the kids I coach, in the same full-circle way those who coached me did so once upon a time.
