I attended the Earth Day parking lot pick-up hosted by the Path advisory committee. Overall planning and attending this event were pretty fun. It both functioned as a cohort bonding event and a way to clean up a park in the NWA area that's near the university of Arkansas. We picked up a decent amount of trash and hope to do it again next semester.

For this 2hrs of service during spring break I went home for a little bit and volunteered with the Arkansas foodbank in Little Rock. During that time, I was helping them put together bags of food for students in the area for students that go through food insecurity and sometimes go without food on the weekends when school is out. I usually volunteer with them and is usually a fun experience.
During this event, I helped with the NWA soup Sunday where I was helping with greeting restaurants that arrived, helping them set up their tables, and provide help when needed on different task. Overall, a very fun experience being this is my second time doing the event. It was just a pretty nice event to help raise money and eat delicious soup.
I was helping with the Dr. MLK day of service be helping get things prepped for people in the community. I was assisting with getting bags packaged with toiletries and other cold weather essentials. In addition to just helping with smaller task here and there to make things go smoother like breaking down boxes and such.
For my Honors Academic event I went to Finding STEM Research Opportunities Off-Campus and gave insight on programs and other things I could do to participate in research. Some things include things through NSF such as REU's, research at other campuses, and research abroad.
I volunteered with the Arkansas Food Bank in Little Rock. I have volunteered with them multiple times and overall, it was a fun experience. When volunteering with them, I packed food for kids with food insecurity and packed boxes of food for students in the area that they cover. I believe it was so important to do this during this time of food insecurity.
For these 5 hours of service I went back home and helped my sister pass out food bags for thanksgiving. My sister is part of a Girl Scouts troop in Little Rock, and they do certain service events and community things around the community. In doing this event I just helped her out packaging food liked canned food, food mixes, and other thanksgiving related items to elderly and others who are just in need of such food items. We were just driving around and leaving these bags on their front doors. It was very fun to help out my sister and do things together with her and just give back to the community l used to help out a lot before.
My Honors Social Event was Recess: Wellness and during it I was just hanging out with friends and getting some of the snacks and stuff they had.
For this hour, I completed a survey that Taylor sent in the Path group chat. This survey was to gather insight into undergraduate students' knowledge of reproductive health. The survey was kind of an insight for me because I didn't realize the number of things I didn't know about reproductive health. Again, really insightful and was happy I could help someone in their research.
I assisted with Path Interview Weekend, which overall was a nice experience. I did multiple jobs during the 2-day sessions which included walking people to Gearheart, cleanup crew, participating in game night, and being part of the calming team. During each one of these jobs besides cleanup crew I got to meet with the potential path scholars which was amazing. They all came from different backgrounds and had some very interesting passions which had me flabbergasted in a good way. But going back to cleanup crew I was assigned to it but, helped out just to get everything put up and out of the way faster. Then, once we got to game night it was fun to see their personality's less stressed over making good impressions with others and just having fun and getting to know other people. After that moving on to Saturday, I walked people to their interview rooms and talked to them some, encouraged them before their interview and sent them in. In between walking people, I was just chatting with the potential path scholars. In addition, I even helped someone with some mock interview questions before he went to be interviewed. Overall, great experience and wish all of them could get in but I'm hopeful to see who makes it.
