As a student at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro (UNCG), I had the incredible opportunity to volunteer by giving young students a tour of our campus. This experience allowed me to share insights about college life, encourage them to pursue higher education, and answer their curious questions about academics, student activities, and campus resources. Walking them through different areas of UNCG, from the library to the student union, I saw their excitement grow as they envisioned themselves in a college environment. One of the highlights of the day was eating together in the cafeteria. Sitting with them over a meal gave us a chance to connect on a personal level. We talked about their dreams, favorite subjects, and what they looked forward to in the future. This experience was both rewarding and eye-opening. It reminded me of the impact small moments can have on inspiring young minds. Seeing their enthusiasm and curiosity reinforced my passion for mentorship and community engagement. I hope that through this experience, I helped spark an interest in higher education and showed them that college is an achievable goal.
