I love working with young students interested in medicine. As someone who's gone through many healthcare work experiences and went through a very nontraditional route to get to medicine, I think my insight can help connect to the students in a meaningful way, and hopefully make some of this concepts valuable to their futures, even if just sparking exciting and joy for learning. It's really special when students practice skills and are able to feel confident about applying what they've learned. It's truley a special experience to maybe impact even just one student's journey and the YIMA is an amazing way to do that with the youth of the local community.

I loved helping out with this event! It is so fun to get to see the faculty and community come together with the kiddos to get the Fall/Halloween season excitement going! I am co president of the club and made sure our new first year reps understood the importance of this event, and how fun it could be. I made sure all supplies were ordered/available for a sanitary tattoo experience, and helped with clean up, decor, tattoo application, and break down.
