I volunteered at the Senior Fall Festival, where I helped run several of the games and assisted participants throughout the event. It was a really fun and meaningful experience. I got to interact with the seniors, make sure they were enjoying themselves, and keep the activities running smoothly. Seeing them smile and have a good time made the effort completely worth it. The event reminded me how important community connection and service are, especially when it brings joy to others.
I volunteered at the City of Marietta’s HarvestFest for OwlsServe Day, where I managed the check-in table for the pie and costume contests. My role involved greeting guests, confirming registrations, and keeping the process organized and welcoming. This experience helped me strengthen my communication and time-management skills while contributing to a fun community event. It was rewarding to see families enjoy themselves and know that my efforts helped the event run smoothly.
I attended A Klean Sweep: Mile Klean Up hosted by the Phenomenal Pi Phi Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated. It was a meaningful experience where I joined others in picking up trash along the mile, helping to enhance the environment and give back to the community. I enjoyed being part of a hands-on effort that not only cleaned up the area but also raised awareness about the importance of taking care of our surroundings. It felt good to know that my small contribution made a positive difference.
I attended the Pet Toy Drive hosted by KSU Pocket Full of Care in collaboration with the Sigma Alpha Chapter of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. The event focused on collecting supplies for the Homeless Pets Foundation to support animals in need. During the drive, I contributed by donating cat food and cat toys. It was rewarding to participate in an event that helps provide comfort and care to pets awaiting adoption, and I enjoyed being able to give back to the community while supporting a meaningful cause.
I participated in the Black Student Association’s Campus Clean Up. Although I arrived a couple of minutes late and couldn’t immediately find the larger group, I still contributed by walking around campus and picking up trash along the way. I made sure to properly dispose of the items in trash cans and also focused on the parking lot area, which tends to collect a lot of litter. This experience reminded me of how important it is to take initiative, even in small ways, to keep our campus clean and welcoming. I appreciated the opportunity to give back and support the BSA’s efforts to improve our community environment.
