Volunteering at Bread for the City was a really rewarding experience. I helped sort and hand out food to families in need, and it opened my eyes to how much even a little help can mean to someone. It was great working with other volunteers and being part of something that makes a real difference in the community.

Volunteering at the Capital One Food Bank made me realize how much community and biology connect. Seeing how access to healthy food affects people’s health showed me that biology isn’t just about what happens inside the body, it’s also about how our environment and community shape it. Helping families get nutritious food felt like directly supporting their well-being. It reminded me of how every part of a system, whether in the body or in a community, has to work together for things to stay balanced.
