Chase @ National Council of Negro Women
Canvassing for the Democrats of Georgia with NCNW was a fun and meaningful opportunity to participate in political activism and encourage civic engagement. Connecting with community members reminded me of the importance of using my voice and helping others recognize the power of theirs.

Very nice experience! I was taking the products that had been checked and putting them into various boxes, such as cleaning products, non-nutritious beverages, canned goods, and many others.

This was a nice experience. I volunteered at Burgess Peterson Academy and worked with grades 2nd-4th. A group of us educated the different classes on the importance of exercise, including different muscles, types of exercise, and a recap of the previous two lessons. I enjoyed demonstrating the yoga poses for the kids!

Today, I volunteered at Burgess Peterson Academy as part of the elementary pediatric health curriculum program. We arrived at the school at 8:00 AM and visited four classrooms to engage in discussions and provide educational sessions for kindergarten and first-grade students. The objective of these sessions was to impart fundamental knowledge about nutrition and the significance of adopting healthy eating habits. To enhance the learning experience, we employed scripts and interactive games.

I volunteered at the Hillard House in Richmond again. Today was a lighter day for the facility. I started by turning over a room for a new incoming family. We cleaned the room, gathered supplies, and organized it nicely for them. Next, the Hillard House likes to do an appreciation breakfast for the donors who help keep the place running, so I wrote the invitations for them.

I volunteered at the Hilliard House, where we helped decorate the facility in celebration of the organization's end of fiscal year. We inflated balloons and decorated the office spaces to help create a festive atmosphere for the staff. After decorating, we assisted with cleaning and organizing the facility. My sister and I began in the meditation room, a space where children can relax, enjoy snacks, and play with toys. We swept the floors, wiped down surfaces, and sanitized the toys. We then moved to the kitchen, where we completed similar tasks, including sweeping, wiping down surfaces, and organizing the space to ensure it was clean and welcoming for the families the organization serves.
