It was a great experience to be able to help serve the less fortunate. The people who work in the kitchen are so selfless and kind, and they made us all feel very welcome. I really enjoyed preparing the food trays, and especially when the soup kitchens' doors opened and we helped hand out all of the food to the people who stopped by. Everyone who came by was so grateful and kind, and it was nice to have short conversations with a few of them and learn a bit about them.

This was my first time volunteering at a soup kitchen, but I enjoyed it a lot. Everyone working there was so kind and appreciative of our help, and I made sure to go out of my way to do as much as I could to assist them. We filled a few hundred styrofoam trays with different types of food, cleaned the kitchen, and handed out the trays to those who came by once our doors opened. I felt very fulfilled and happy with the experience, and I look forward to spending more time at JOY volunteering.

It felt good to give to those in need, in my own small way by donating blood. The workers were very professional and friendly, and that made the whole experience better and more fulfilling.

Volunteering for family night at the ECU Community School was so much fun. I got to greet all the kids, and we made sure they were in good moods, and if not, tried our best to put a smile on their faces. Serving food to all the families was very rewarding, and it was nice to be able to give back to the parents for showing up and supporting their child. Everyone who works at the community school is so kind and welcoming, and I definitely would love to volunteer there again.
