Our first monthly highway clean up for this academic year. Highway clean up is one of my favorite service activities, it’s simple and we get to help keep a space clean.
My band room hours, I didn’t do too much to help this week, but I checked in on staff and asked if they needed any assistance.
Helped pack coolers with powerades for our away game against Central.
The Band Room Cleanup was hosted by both Tau Beta Sigma and Kappa Kappa Psi, and was open to any band students that wanted to help out. We cleaned the main band room, the auxiliary room, percussion cage, and bathrooms. Swept, mopped, cleaned mirrors, cleaned rugs, reorganized where needed.
We visited a senior center during our chapter retreat. We played bingo with the residents, talked with them, sang karaoke for the residents, and we even sang our chapter song for one of the well-known residents. This trip warmed my heart because I knew small stuff like bingo and singing made some of the residents' days a little better.
We cleaned tables and coolers that'll be used for Blowout to serve the high schoolers. We also put waters and sports drinks into some of the coolers and reorganized all the food, drinks, napkins, and cutlery that were pulled out the day prior.
In preparation for our annual Band Blowout, I helped clear our auxiliary room of the items from stage band, got out coolers, plates, cutlery, napkins, cases of waters and sports drinks from our storage area in the band room. We organized them neatly and put them to the side to finish preparing another day.
We went to our highway and picked up trash. This is one of my favorite service activites, I love talking to my sorors while we clean the highway.
Rearranged items in the band room in preparation for the brass ensemble concerts. Moved some things back into the cage area; a lot of things went into the auxiliary practice room, and we partitioned the half of the room with all the stuff we moved. Took out trash and repositioned the stage.
