On Saturday, March 28th I volunteered with city blossom at Eastern Senior High School to help reconstruct their garden. I helped moving mulch and soil. I also helped with pulling at weeds and replanting rocks.

For my spring break I choose to participate in Howard University Alternative Spring Break. I was sent to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania under the initiative community development and restorative justice. For my group we were sent to Overbrook High School where we talked to students about after high school plans, helped with assignments, and restoring old classrooms. After school we would head over to the Tustin center where we could interact with the locals and kids. This trip really taught me a lot about Howard and privilege.
On Wednesday, October 29, I volunteered at the Human Rescue Alliance. I helped clean out kennels for the incoming dogs.
on Monday, October 27, I attended a club meeting where we all brought dental hygiene supplies for the oral hygiene drive to be given out to those in need
On Friday, October 24, I volunteered at the Capitol Area Food Bank. I participated in the gardening portion of the volunteering. This was my first experience ever gardening to I was able to learn a lot of new things. The service was a lot of labor and hard work, so everyone there was working closely together. The experience was great and I learned a lot of things, like how to harvest certain plants, the "lasagna" method, and how compost is made. I will definitely be going back.
