I got the opportunity to make meaningful and uplifting card to people affected by breast cancer.

For this experience I was given the opportunity to donate clothes to the Women’s center. I donated 3 New/Unused shirts as well as a pair of lightly worn pants and hoodie. This opportunity means everything, growing up my family relied on resources like this. To be able to give back is truly special.

Participating in the Adopt-a-Street cleanup was a simple but meaningful experience. I helped pick up trash along the street, which made me realize how much small actions can improve the environment. At first it didn’t seem like a big deal, but seeing the difference after we finished made it feel worth it!

For this volunteer opportunity. We did relaxation exercises with the classes, showing them how to meditate. This allowed students to clear their minds before starting our next activity. We got to help students write meaningful letters to Aggies for their final exams!

This week our workshop was about saying no to drugs. We talked to the students about peer pressure, mental health, and social awareness. This is very important for students to know because they are entering the stage in their life where they are approached with situations as such and they need to be prepared if it happens. One wrong choice can lead to a down spiral in life, and the students need to be aware of this. It was an honor to be there to answer questions and educate the students on such a topic.

For Halloween day at NorthEast Middle Black Boy Diary decided to dress up as our future career to show students representation of career options open to them. We were able to explain what we want to be in life and our journey towards our career path. The overall workshop was to get the students thinking about what they want to pursue in life. This was special to me because I wanted to be everything growing up, because I knew I could do anything I put my mind to, and I want the students to feel the same.

At North East Middle we hosted a 2 hour workshop to middle schoolers about Brest cancer awareness. Many students have no idea what breast cancer is but after our workshop we can confidently say the students know what it is, how to support people battling it, and how to get checked for it. It was a new topic for the students which meant they had so many questions and just being there to answer those questions on such an important topic means everything. I’m glad we were able to have this workshop and bring light to such an important topic.
