Through my involvement with Hill Country Strong, I contributed over 380 hours toward disaster relief efforts following the July 4th flood in Central Texas. I helped organize and distribute essential supplies, coordinate volunteers, and work with organizations such as the Salvation Army to manage donations and support affected families.
This experience showed me the importance of leadership, adaptability, and service in times of crisis. I learned how to take initiative, collaborate with others, and respond to urgent community needs in a meaningful way. Seeing the impact of our work firsthand strengthened my commitment to serving others and continuing to be involved in efforts that support and rebuild communities.

Through my undergraduate research with the UT Austin Accelerated Research Initiative in the Materials in Color (MiC) group, I worked on identifying dyes suitable for visible light-activated polymerization for use in biocompatible 3D-printed prosthetics. My primary focus was developing a reliable, quantitative method to measure photopolymerization efficiency. This involved preparing resin formulations, exposing samples to controlled light wavelengths, and measuring mass changes before and after curing to evaluate how effectively the material polymerized under different conditions.
This experience strengthened my analytical thinking, attention to detail, and ability to approach complex problems systematically. I learned how to design experiments, interpret data, and refine methods to improve accuracy and reproducibility. It also showed me how research can directly contribute to improving accessibility in healthcare, particularly in making prosthetics more affordable and widely available. This reinforced my interest in medicine by connecting scientific discovery to real-world patient impact.
Through my involvement with Micah 6, I volunteered at a local food bank where I assisted with organizing and distributing supplies to individuals and families in need. My responsibilities included preparing items for distribution, maintaining organization within the facility, and helping ensure that operations ran efficiently during service hours.
This experience reinforced the importance of consistency and humility in service. I learned how small, routine acts can make a meaningful difference in people’s lives, and how working as part of a team can improve the quality and reach of community support efforts. It strengthened my commitment to serving others and being actively involved in addressing basic needs within my community.
Through my work as a private tutor at Schreiner University, I provided free one-on-one tutoring in general chemistry and organic chemistry to fellow students. I helped explain difficult concepts, worked through practice problems, and supported students in building confidence in their understanding of course material.
This experience strengthened my ability to communicate complex information clearly and adapt my teaching style to meet individual needs. I learned the value of patience and mentorship, and saw how personalized academic support can make a meaningful difference in a student’s success. It reinforced my commitment to helping others through education and service.
