MLK Day of Service is the third of four large days of service that the Center for Leadership & Civic Engagement offers throughout the year. The Martin Luther King Day of Service celebrates the Civil Rights leader’s life and legacy as a national day of service to encourage all Americans to volunteer to improve their communities.
Due to COVID-19, we will NOT be having a large kick-off event but volunteers will sign up for individual service sites and transport themselves to that site. There are some sites that are within walking distance to campus, are taking place on campus, and there are also virtual options available. Each site (shift) will have their own requirements and instructions but all volunteers will be required to wear a mask, which will be provided. Reflection will take place virtually on your own time after you serve. A CLCE staff member will check you in at your service site and provide a snack bag and personal protective equipment (PPE).
You should only register for ONE service site (shift).
We do NOT do special group sign-ups. If your group wants to serve together then each member must sign up themselves!
