About
Give back to the community and learn about the law during Pro Bono Week! Pairs of students will staff a desk at the Washington County Courthouse to answer legal questions on orders of protection, eviction, and divorce/custody under the supervision of attorneys from Peace at Home Family Shelter and Legal Aid of Arkansas.
October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month. This project highlights the ways in which law can make a difference in everyday life, including the life of those who are threatened with domestic violence.
Students must attend a one-hour training session to participate in this project. The session will be held at 4 p.m. on Friday, October 21 in Room 336 of the law school. If you cannot attend the session in person, please contact Professor Gosman at sgosman@uark.edu for details about a virtual option. You will receive pro bono credit for the training and the time you spend volunteering at the courthouse.
