A client came in with a child support question and began discussing some of the abusive practices of her ex-boyfriend. It was great to learn there are systems in place that don't always require a lawyer to protect someone's interest, like Arkansas's Child Support Enforcement office.
A client came in with some divorce questions about his ex-wife's relocation. The attorneys I worked with knew the case law and judge well. They were able to give options regarding self-help and how to reach out to a lawyer.
Peace at Home is an incredible organization that strengthens our community. Being able to work alongside local attorneys while engaging and counseling people seeking legal advice was an honor. I am thankful the University of Arkansas School of Law partnered with Peace at Home and its legal staff to create this educational experience.
A client came in with some legal questions, but was really looking for some life counsel. It was great to see the different hats a lawyer can wear.
Great opportunity to volunteer in the community
I worked at the Washington County Courthouse with Pierce and the Peace at Home staff.

I hope that law students can continue to partner with local attorneys, Peace at Home, and Legal Aid for pro bono opportunities in our community. It was so wonderful to be able to help the people in our community today!
We were able to chat with 6 clients over 2 hours. I loved interacting with clients and answering their questions. It felt super collaborative between students and attorneys. Would love to do this again.
