By living sustainably, we minimize a negative influence our lives can have to the environment. Something as simple as cleaning up water bottles after a 5k can protect our planet for a healthier tomorrow.
It was cold and rainy, but ultimately a great experience.
Although it rained during the race, everyone was still excited. It was nice to meet new people. With the help of all the volunteers, we were able to quickly put everything away and had time to take afterwards.
It was fun and I helped clean up I also met some nice people!
I love volunteering for the running of the hogs. This is my second time to work the race and it gets better each year. I am not a runner so its fun to be apart of the atmosphere without running! Our job was to help guide racers down the correct path and we also were tasked with cheering, shouting, and clapping whenever racers set out on the race and finished. I think everyone at the race benefitted from our services. I hope it works out that I can volunteer for the race my senior year!
During my service hours I encouraged and cheered on the runners at the start/finish line. I also helped set up railing in order to guide the runners in the correct direction!
