I helped to co-lead in a donation drive project that lasted two months. The goal was to encourage the student community to collect as many cans as possible to be donated to Urban Ministry to help those in need over this winter break. During this time, I helped to create the flyer, assist with the boxes around campus, encouraged people to donate, maintained updates on the boxes and helped to organize the project.

I volunteered at Backpack Beginnings, which is a nonprofit organization that's mission is to deliver child-centric services to feed, comfort, and clothe children in need. During our time, we helped pack school supplies for youth.
During this semester, I had the ability to mentor elementary school students at Hope academy through Mentoring for H.E.R. I visited almost every Monday and Wednesday of every week for about 30 minutes sessions where I talked to them and got to know my individual mentee that I was assigned to. Overall I completed 5.5 hours this semester.
During the 107th Association For The Study of African American Life and History Annual Meeting and Conference, I had the pleasure of volunteering during this three day event for a cumulative of 20 hours. During this time, I was responsible for setting up zooms and making sure the hybrid conference was executed correctly. I also was responsible for answering any questions by attendees and clearly up any confusion with room numbers and locations. In addition to this, I had the ability to network and discuss the importance of health in the Black community with professors across the United States.

I was able to help set up and run the Empower All Darty that Mentoring for Her created for a school supply drive-through party and cookout.
We helped to decorate donation boxes for the M4H Darty!
