This event I assisted was “Women in STEM Careers”. The event had many helpful resources for women in STEM. One of them was having many special guests that helped many learn more about internships, networking and having an overall conversation about excelling in the STEM world. The advice from all these women was very genuine and helpful. I enjoyed listening to every story that was shared. Almost every question was answered! I left this meeting with many resourceful information.

I felt excited and motivated in this event! The vibes were amazing and everyone in the meeting participated, whether it was through the chat or showing their cámaras. This event helped me identify my strengths and talents and how to use them to be successful and focus on the positive things. I definitely learned something new out of this event, Thank you.

In this workshop event from the WOW program, we learned new strategies on how to overcome procrastination. During the session we were able to identify our stressors and we even did a quick activity on drawing a plate and writing down what we currently have on our plate. Everyone in the meeting was participating and made me feel comfortable knowing that I’m not the only one who relates to similar struggles. The wow team also introduced us to a planner that can be very helpful to successfully complete and manage our priorities. They also suggested different apps that can help us as well. I enjoyed my time during this event!

In the recovery session we were reminded of the requirements we have to complete and we were assigned to a student support program in which we joined in breakout rooms and got to speak to them and learned about how the program can help you succeed academically. They made sure to make us feel welcome and answered all of our questions.

This session provided many new updates and valuable information for the spring semester. We were all reminded of our service involvement requirements and received a lot of helpful answers to our questions. They also reminded us how to use GivePlus to record our hours.

I am amazed with the Launch orientation meeting we had! I left the zoom call with lot's of valuable information that will help us all during our first year at PGCC. The SSP staff introduced us to many important resources and new details about PGCC and the SSP. I was very engaged throughout the two hours we were in the meeting, taking notes but at the same time kinda having fun. Meeting the SSP staff, whom made the meeting fun, made me feel welcomed and comfortable about becoming a new student at PGCC. We were all able to ask questions and have responses by the friendly staff. Being able to connect with other scholarship students was very cool! They gave out very great tips and advice on how to be successful throughout our academic years at PGCC. I want to thank them and all the great Special Scholarship Program staff for this opportunity and sharing with us very important information for us to be successful academically and making sure that we know that we have all their support and help.
