As a part of our annual Thanksgiving service event, my club, the Association for Information Systems, hosted a Thanksgiving Turkey giveaway event where we actively gave out Thanksgiving meals to families to ensure they would have enough food for a Thanksgiving dinner. This was in collaboration with Out of the Garden Project, and they have been so good to me and my organization! We gave out over 200 meals to families! This is what faithful service looks like; seeing the smiles on kids' and parents' faces as you give them food that will last them for the next 3 weeks is priceless. We truly made a difference in people's lives.
This was the last day of the week for the Out of the Garden Project to package food for the distribution day coming up on Saturday. So they needed all hands on deck to package all the leftover food for families in need! So, I was packing up produce items today on the palette and filled three palettes full of food. After that, I broke down all of the container boxes of cardboard, took out the trash and cardboard, and then cleaned/swept the whole warehouse after everyone was done.
Since we cleared the excess cardboard yesterday, the truck stashed with new cardboard boxes came today. So, I was tasked with taking the new boxes off the palettes, unpackaging them, and then stacking them in the loading area for volunteers to pack food. I cleared off three full palettes that contained over 240 boxes, and then I joined the rest of the group in packaging up food boxes. We stacked two full palettes of food to be sent out tomorrow.
I served at Out of the Garden Project today on the cardboard breakdown team. The warehouse had many cardboard boxes that needed to be broken down while the produce team was unboxing food and packaging it on the palette. After we were done breaking down boxes, we had to throw them all into the compactor so they could be reused later.

Excellent service!!
