    Honors College Path Program

I volunteered to help at Soup Sunday in Rogers, AR. I was tasked with cutting the bread and then organizing them into bread baskets. I did this so later that day when the event started, people will be able to enjoy the various soups with the bread. After cutting bread and my shift was over, I was able to enjoy the event and take part in tasting the different soups. By the end of the day, I was very full and satisfied. I would definitely like to volunteer at this event again.

I helped at the first Friday of December with the Honors College Coffee Cart. I helped keep the station restocked and hand out hot beverages such as hot chocolate, coffee, tea, and apple cider. I also helped by giving out churros to the people that were attending. The first Friday of December also was the same day as Pancake Breakfast for reading day. This was my first time experiencing Pancake Breakfast and it was a blast. I got to eat good food and pastries and there were a lot of people to socialize with. Overall, a very enjoyable experience.

I helped with the Honors College Coffee Cart at the first Friday for the month of November which was over Native Americans. I gave out churros and help keep the coffee cart clean and well stocked. The event was overall a fun time and the food they gave out was delicious. The experience was great, and I hope to help again the next first Friday.

I helped at the first Friday event with the Honors College Coffee Cart for the LGBTQIA+ community. I helped keep restocking the coffee cart and helping people get their preferred drink and grab a churro. The event was overall fun, they had a photo booth, food, plants to take home, and arts and crafts. It was a great experience, and I would be glad to help again.

Salvation Army Pavilion Construction with Razorback Food Recovery

It was a great experience to be able to volunteer on Make a Difference Day and help at Salvation Army. This was my first time taking part of Make a Difference Day, so I really enjoyed helping out and getting to know the people involved at the Salvation Army. My task was to help build a pavilion to provide a leisure area. Building the structure was fun for me because I like to do manual labor and partake in physical activities. The person in charge was also very nice and genuine, he talked about his life and how he came to be the director of the salvation army. Overall, I would like to come and volunteer at this location again.

I helped at the Honors College Coffee Cart for the MC's September First Friday event. I helped make "Mangonadas" by dipping the rims of the cups in chamoy and tajin, then filling them up with ice and mango juice to go with the theme of Hispanic Heritage Month.

I volunteered at the University of Arkansas Farm and helped pull weeds to keep the vegetables healthy by hand. I learned the importance of keeping plants in good condition and that pulling by hand is sometimes better than using a machine. The experience was fun, and I will likely volunteer here again.
