Today a lot of scholars were absent so I was able to work one-on-one with a few scholars with homework help. In community meetings we worked on sending letters to elderly people that are currently in the hospital. Then during mentoring scholars began to present their final projects.
I had my biweekly meeting with Brooke. We discussed the wrapping up of going to site as well as some upcoming events with DC Reads.
This is to record my work for the Skills Builder assignment. I watched the TedTalk and answered the questions. The TedTalk was very interesting and I enjoyed applying it to what it means to be an education advocate. I will no doubt take with me Adichie’s warnings about only telling a single story.
I worked with eighth grade students on homework and high school applications. I also helped run Community Meetings before I helped a sixth grader finish some math homework during mentoring.
worked with students on ELA homework as well as an SEL activity and had a lot of fun bonding with some of the students.
