Joshua @ Navigating and Completing the FASFA Form: What You Need to Know About FASFA 2025

Personally, I do not file a FASFA application because I am not a citizen; however, I do file a MHEC One application. Nevertheless, it is primordial for us as college students to get informed about how to handle these applications for future needs. As college students, we must take action in these financial situations and get things done.

Joshua @ Owl Market Restocking

The event consisted of being on time, be responsible and working in teams. I have never done this type of event, however, I loved how everyone took a role to participate!

Transfer: What Next? (Scholarship "mini" Session 1)

It was shocking to learn about the average costs of going to a 4-year university. However, it is useful to know about these financial matters, so we know how to address them when we decide to transfer to a 4-year university. Also, I now know that merit-based scholarships are given to students who have good grades and an outstanding GPA.

Joshua @ Gathering of Men

As always, one of the best quotes shared during the events is, "The best ability is availability." Being available allows us to assist with events that contain valuable information. How can we become our best versions if we do not make the time for it? Additionally, making room for availability will assist me in having a clearer vision of where we want to go. The clearer the vision, the sooner you get to it.

Joshua @ Human Trafficking

I was one of many people to think that Human Trafficking was only “Snatch and grab,” but it reality the offender could be in between us and we would not be able to recon that. We have to stand up as a community and raise our awareness about these sensitive issues since it is damaging many our people, our communities. From young children, to adults. No matter age, gender, or identity. We must have each other’s backs.

Joshua @ Academic Edge: Igniting the "College Success" Mindset.

Urgency and maximizing because tomorrow is not guaranteed. We must not fear to request help, we must advocate for ourselves. So that way we can OWN our success. We must MANIFEST that anything is possible if we believe we can do it!

Refresh Spring 25 meeting

As a Promise Scholar it is primordial to acknowledge the requirements to stay in good academic standing within the scholarship. It is always useful to refresh our mind about these important things. Also, attending to this event brought new things to learn. For example, the known “service hours” are now called “engagement hours”.

Joshua @ How to Overcome Academic Fatigue?

Often, we start with everything we've got at the beginning of a race. However, we should stop and think about how this will affect us during the race. It works the same from an academic standpoint. We overwork ourselves at the beginning of a semester, not thinking we have a long way to go. we should do our hardest work at the begging and leave the easiest work for the end. So that way we can finish off the semester with the best attitude.

Scholarship Session #2 (Thursday-VIRTUAL)

I appreciated how passionately he spoke at this event. Even though he had been rejected for so many years, he never gave up trying to help his people. He inspires me to stand up to every challenge I may have on the way to success.

Joshua @ Shaping of Political Awereness: Shaping our Community Through Politial Consciousness

A community where you give to get back. A community means to have a support network. A community gives back to its people instead of waiting for something in return. It means to have their backs. A community should be talk though actions, and love with support. This phrase hits different when you don't supply to your community "You cannot complain with what you are not helping." That all applies when we conversate about politics.
