Imposter syndrome, the ability to become someone that you are not. Also, the feeling of not belonging. I recently had a one on one with Mr. Ross, and made me realize that I am good enough, and the outcome of certain situations are not my fault, rather the situation's fault. We must believe we are good enough, and cherish the good qualities within us.

Self-advocacy. What is self-advocacy? At the beginning of the event, I had an idea of what self-advocacy entails. However, that idea was fully changed. Self-advocacy is standing up for yourself, and having our voices heard. These phrases given at the event speak for themselves "Speaking up when you feel misheard or misunderstood" and "Fight for what is yours."
I am grateful to be able to be part of this team. Of this family. I feel as though the staff of this organization are like academic parents showing us the way to success. As parents, they are preparing us and making sure that every proposed goal is accomplished, as hard as they can be.
A phrase given at this event made me think of what it takes to be willing to connect with our professors if we want to make a difference in the class. "Build before you request," this entails forming a relationship with our professors so that when we are in a place of darkness, we can "request" their help. And not demand when we don't even do our part to get ahead and succeed.
Today’s event was special. Apart from being fun, it was informative. It also connected me to many people I did not know of and to clubs that caught my interest.
I went with my friend to support and watch the game. I have never been to a soccer game before. Though, I love how everyone, including me, was rooting for our team, the Owls. However, I was not expecting them to lose the game. Failure pushes us to improve and succeed in the future. Next time we will hype them even more and lead them to success.
Encouraging students to identify their superpowers and strengths allows them to dive deeper into doing what they love the most and that it will mark their lives indefinitely. However, uncovering yourself is an interesting and meaningful assignment that takes you on adventures, but in the end, it shapes you into who you are.
This event woke the leader within me. When I think of a leader, the first thing that comes to mind is decision-making. Being a leader requires being two steps ahead of the game and knowing what has to be done. However, being a leader requires an intact mental, physical, and emotional state.
Man, I do not have enough words to express how powerful this event was. This organization feels more like a household full of relatives than an organization itself. The way that Mr. Bryan expresses himself motivates me to go beyond my beliefs. This Blast Off gave the most comforting welcome than ever. It almost felt like a tight hug. Those types of hugs that push you to keep on moving forward and thrive.
Helping the cause of such incidents from 9/11, specifically when it comes to children would be one priority to me. Not just getting the service hour, but also being part of the team that allowed many children to access food resources to maintain themselves, makes me happy. I volunteered to package the leftover equipment and materials and put them in the truck.
