I worked with three students today: Melanie and Anthony in sixth grade, and Ashley in fifth grade. The two sixth graders worked independently on Kahn Academy while Ashley and I worked together to do math.
I worked with Tetiana today. We discussed US and Ukrainian geography, as well as music in our cultures and how many music listeners don't understand what they're listening to. Next week, we are going to translate and unpack the lyrics of Ukrainian music.
I worked with four students: Ammar and Anthony in 6th grade, and Noah and Brenda in 4th grade. They all worked on math individually, and asked me questions when necessary. I also gave them warnings about how much time they had left.
I worked with Olha today. We talked about our past weeks and got talking about religions and conflicts between countries. It was a really interesting conversation. Then, Olha gave a presentation on what geography in Ukraine is like, and it really helped me gain a better understanding of the country.
I worked with two students, Victoria in 5th grade and Abem in 7th grade. With both students, we worked on math. We practiced skills like factoring, multiplying, dividing, adding, and subtracting.
Today, I worked with Tetiana. We discussed life, pets, and the Movie we watched two weeks ago. Then, we played games including 20 questions, grammar jeopardy, and hang man, which was actually really fun and a good way to spend the time.
Today, I worked with two students: Kevin and Ezra. With Kevin, who is in tenth grade, we worked on his driver's ed work, which is part of his curriculum. With Ezra, we did fifth grade math, which included adding decimals
I worked with Olha. We discussed our lives over the past week and then I gave her a presentation about US geography, particularly as it applies to my home town and state. She found it really interesting and will be making a similar presentation as it applies to Ukraine for next week.
I worked with two students, Sophia and Anthony, who worked on math and reading. With Sophia, we read a few articles on readworks, learned new words, and discussed the passages. With Anthony, we worked on dividing and 6th grade math, at which he is excelling.
Today, I worked with Tetiana. We discussed family experiences, moving houses, and more about the Fourth of July. This was the first week where we watched a movie and didn't actually have to discuss it.
