About

Join us and be a part of the 2025 Move-In Experience!

Move-In is a campus and community-wide event celebrating our expanding nest. Your support for this important campus tradition provides a welcoming environment for nearly 3,000 new Seahawks and their families. On what can be an incredibly exciting and emotional day, we ease the transition and amount of time it takes for new first-year students to move into their residence halls, allowing them to celebrate this milestone with their families, explore campus, and feel more prepared for their first day of classes.

Move-In occurs over two days: Friday, August 15th and Saturday, August 16th. We welcome you to register for one volunteer shift on Friday and one volunteer shift on Saturday!

Every volunteer will receive breakfast, lunch, parking, and a Move-In t-shirt for each day of volunteering. Students who volunteer and live in campus housing will also be permitted to move into their fall assignment on Thursday, August 14th.

Parking: All volunteers should park in the East Deck located off of Reynolds Drive.

Note: UNCW Faculty and Staff interested in taking part in Move In should consider serving as a Volunteer Coordinator. Details and a link to register can be found here.
