Stone Mountain Community Food Center

While at the Atlanta Community Food Bank in the Community Food Center Packing & DIstribution, I enjoyed shopping for the Atlanta community and taking their groceries to the car. It gave me a sense of inspiration and joy because I loved picking the various food options and putting them in their boxes. It made me feel like I was their shopper, and I liked how I made it convenient for them to get their groceries, especially since some of them were elderly.

I had a fantastic time at Atlanta Community Food Bank. In my hometown of Dallas, I had become extremely immersed in the food bank network that serviced the community, and it was so refreshing to find such a robust system here as well. As I sorted food items alongside my peers, I felt reconnected to the work I always felt was important. Though this session was a 'behind the scenes' extension of the totality of service that ACFB provides for those in need, I could feel that my impact was just the beginning of a positive change in someone's life. I look forward to volunteering with this organization again soon!

I had a great experience. Everyone there were very encouraging and made service fun.

Today I felt so honored to be able to feed and help families through packaged goods. There where different stations; and at the station I was at, I helped verify food labels and packaging. This was an overall amazing experience , and im very glad I chose to volunteer here!

The energy is fun, I’ll be back.
