On Friday March 27th, i went to Martha's table and volunteered to help set up for their women's month health event, and during this event i got to learn about period and menstruation, and even menopause. This was my first time working with Martha's table and this was also their first Women's Health event, everyone was very welcoming and i felt like i've been there for years. Although my role at the women’s health event mainly involved helping with setup, I was still immersed in an environment centered on biological concepts like menstruation and menopause. Through exposure to discussions and educational materials, I was able to connect what I’ve learned about hormonal regulation and reproductive physiology to real-world health issues. This experience also showed me how biology extends beyond the classroom, especially in promoting health awareness and reducing stigma, and reinforced the importance of making biological knowledge accessible in community settings.
Gave out the Vegetables and fruit to the community that come to Martha's Table specifically at the market.
Volunteering as a market assistant at Martha’s Table was a meaningful experience that showed me the direct impact of food access on community health. I helped distribute fresh produce and pantry items while supporting families in making healthy choices, which connected to concepts of nutrition and public health. This experience helped me better understand how access to healthy food can influence overall well-being and strengthened my appreciation for community-based efforts in promoting health equity.
This event was very nice, it was well organized and you can tell the people who run the events are passionate. I had a lot of fun learning about the mission and purpose of Marthas table as well and the processes that go into serving the community.

I had a great time volunteering with Martha's Table on Friday afternoon. I helped with setting up food baskets, making bags of food, and providing kids with free food at Leckie elementary school. It was rewarding to serve the kids and make an impact in making sure families were provided food to eat.
Today i volunteered at Martha's Table Heatlhy Market. My duty during my shift was to help bag grocery bags of fresh produce to distribute to people of the D.C. community by means of a pop-up market. It felt rewarding to be able to help give families access to healthy food options at no cost.
During my time at Martha's Table I assisted in packing produce and dry foods to give out to customers in the "Joyful Market".
