Today I had so much fun volunteering with 2 friends at Martha’s Table. We were tasked with distribution and packing up towards the end up the event. Overall the experience was wonderful and I will definitely be doing it again!
We bagged produce for people in Columbia Heights to receive at a market in the afternoon. This food was given out cost-free, and was given to about 300 people.
I bagged produce outside of an elementary school for the children to receive after school. This market took place in a ward with very few grocery stores, so these markets are crucial for food security.
I enjoyed returning back to Martha's Table to help prepare and distribute meals to the residents of NW DC.
